Care

Natural leather is one of the most sustainable materials, so leather products can last for years if properly cared for. A handbag or backpack is an integral part of our style, worn every day and stacked with our lives. To prevent our handbags from losing their charm, it is essential to know the basic rules of leather care:

Impregnation. It is very important to impregnate your handbag when you buy it. We recommend impregnating it 3 times, allowing it to dry thoroughly (e.g. overnight). If you are using a new impregnator, we suggest that you first test it in on invisible place, such as on the pocket or the bottom of the bag. Impregnation not only protects against dirt and rain, but also against dyeing (sometimes bright leather at the start of wear can dye). It is recommended to impregnate every month in cold weather and less frequently in warm weather.

Irrigation and nutrition. Over time, leather can lose elasticity (just like human skin). It is recommended to moisturise the leather as a preventive measure or if you notice that it has become dry, cracked or wrinkled. We like the colourless balm for leather goods, which we also recommend to test invisibly at the beginning. Usually, we already have the tools we need to care for leather handbags at home, as leather handbags are suitable for the same products as leather footwear.

Storage and maintenance. Protect your handbag from scratches and smudges, as some stains are very difficult to clean, especially pen ink or dye stains on denim, which are impossible to remove. Direct heat or sunlight should be avoided. If a leather product gets wet, it should be allowed to dry naturally rather than being dried with a hairdryer or placed on a radiator. If you intend to leave the bag unused for a long period of time, keep it in a material liner to protect it from dust and place paper or other material inside to keep its shape. Never store handbags in damp areas such as a cellar. We recommend that handbags are placed on a shelf instead of hanging, as hanging for a long time may cause deformation.
